The Oud Of The Year

For this tribute, I wanted to represent motherhood through our senses...

Sight, in choosing warm and bright colours as well as fine carved calligraphy
to translate the warmth and beauty that emanate from a mother.

Touch, through the woods and noble materials chosen to represent the gentleness
of a mother when she embraces her child.

Hearing, in searching for a deep, balanced, and composed sound just like the harmony
and generosity arising from a mother's voice.

Finally, smell, because for this instrument, I selected noble resins with subtle scents, to remind us of the comforting smell of a mother.
